Blocks

Welcome to WordPress Block: Upon first installation or after major updates, this block provides quick shortcuts for essential tasks such as customizing your site, writing your first blog post, or viewing your front-end. It is designed to help new users get started and experienced users discover new features. (If you have navigated away from the dashboard, you can press dashboard from the main navigation menu to return).

Except for the Welcome to WordPress Block, the other blocks have controls in the top-right corner. The up and down arrows move the block up or down in the order of the Dashboard’s display. The solid triangle minimizes or maximizes the block.

Site Health Status Block: This gives a quick overview of your web site’s “health” status. For example, WordPress checks whether anything needs to be updated and whether automatic updates are turned on as part of its health checks and reports the overall site status here.

At a Glance Block: This block gives a quick summary of the number of posts, pages, comments, and the WordPress version currently running. It also shows which theme you are using, giving you a snapshot of your site's content.

Activity Block: This block displays recent activities on your site, including upcoming scheduled posts, recent comments, and how they've been handled—approved, pending, or spammed. It's an essential tool for bloggers and administrators of sites that post often.

Quick Draft Block: A useful feature for quickly jotting down ideas for blog posts. The Quick Draft block lets you save a draft title and a brief snippet of content without having to open the full post editor.

WordPress Events and News Block: Keeps you informed about upcoming WordPress software updates and the latest news from the WordPress community. It also includes events such as meetups and other learning opportunities.
